2. 8U-10U (7 MINUTE QUARTERS) 11U-18U (16 minute halves). Running clock according to Rules for blowouts below.

Two rules which are tied to the score margin, shown below:

Age Margin

8&U, 9&U,10&U 20 pts

11&U 22 pts

12&U 24 pts

13&U-18&U 26 pts

Rule 1: No Back-Court pressure - Once the above margin is reached, and for as long as it remains, there shall be no back-court pressure by the winning team. A violation shall result in one verbal warning to the player and the Coach, and ball out of bounds to the team behind. The second and all following violations shall result in two (2) technical free throws and possession awarded to team behind.

Rule 2: Conditions for Running Clock - If the margin at half-time or beyond is reached, then a running clock WILL BE implemented (coaches consent is NOT required). If the margin drops below 20 POINTS, a regular stop clock will be implemented until the required margin is reached again.  THE CLOCK WILL NOT RUN DURING THE SHOOTING OF FREE THROW SHOTS.

3. FIVE (5) minute half time, and 5 minute pre-game warm up. 4 one minute timeouts. 2 thirty second timeouts..

4. Seven fouls - bonus. Technical fouls count as personal fouls. NOTE: Under girls' rules the 2 shot after 10 does now apply.

5. Overtime will be 3 minutes for first occurrence and two minutes thereafter.

6. No 5-second count on the dribble but 5 seconds on closely guarded held ball. 10 second time limit in backcourt unless a shot clock is being used.

7. All teams should be present a minimum of fifteen minutes before game time. Your lineup should be ready 10 minutes before the game. If the tournament is AAU Sanctioned then Birth certificates and AAU cards must be verified prior to the first game. However, each coach is making an affirmative statement that they have verified birth certificates for each player on the team by the time of the tournament. Maximum of 15 players on each team. Players from lower age brackets from the same AAU club may play on 2 teams if they are listed on the original roster of each team. All team coaches must have AAU cards.

8. Tie Breaker System for Pool Play:

 A. Head-to head competition in two way ties in a pool.

 B. Score differential (+ or 13 points maximum)

 C. In the event of a three-way tie, point differential will determine the placement without regard to any head to head results. This seems unfair but is necessary to prevent teams from taking strategic losses or doing funny things with the margin of victory.

 D. A coin flip when both coaches are available or if not available at 8:00 pm at MAIN ARENA DESIGNATED BY TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR or if a necessary game is still in play within fifteen minutes after the game at a MAIN ARENA DESIGNATED BY   TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.

 E. Brackets may also be used to determine the tournament championship.

9. The formula will also be used to break a tie between teams that did not play. However, if these are 2 team undefeated in a pool then they will play to BREAK THE TIE.

10. Any player receiving what the referees designate as a flagrant foul will be suspended from the remainder of the tournament. Taunting of other players, foul language and similar conduct will not be tolerated. Please discuss these matters with your players before the tournament.

11. Head coaches are responsible for their players, the players' parents and fans. Unruly fans will be asked to leave the gym if they cannot control themselves after being warned. If fans constantly ride the officials they may be asked to leave the gym. The referees will issue technical fouls if necessary. We expect the fans to cheer not cause problems for the tournament. This is an invitational tournament. Teams and/or coaches that have behavioral problems will not be allowed to play next year in our tournament. A team will be financially responsible for any property damaged caused by a team member. Coaches need to discuss our policy with their fans and parents. 14. Concessions: Most playing site will be selling concessions at a reasonable price. Please do not attempt to carry in coolers or packages!
