• Helped Alabama earn its second and third straight SEC wins marking the first time the Crimson Tide has won three consecutive league games since 1999.
• Was instrumental in lifting Alabama over Ole Miss, scoring a game-high and season-best, 21 points.
• When the Rebels closed the gap to just one point with 8:08 remaining in the game, Russell nailed a three-pointer and had a pair of steals that she converted to fast break layups to seal the victory for the Tide.
• Her four steals versus Ole Miss set a new career high.
• Averaged 16.5 points, 4.0 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals.

Anderson holds a 3.95 GPA in business

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Paige Anderson, a junior guard on the Samford women's basketball team, was named the Southern Conference's Student-Athlete of the Week when the league released its weekly academic honor on Wednesday.
The Spring Garden, Ala., native holds a 3.95 grade-point average in business. She was named to both the SoCon Honor Roll and the Winter Academic All-Conference team last season.
In two SoCon games last week, Anderson averaged 13.0 points per game while shooting 6-for-10 from three-point range and a perfect 8-for-8 at the free-throw line. Anderson led the team with 17 points against conference-leading Appalachian State and then added nine points in Monday's win over Davidson.

Pensacola State College’s Karneshia Garrett is this week’s FCCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Garrett, a sophomore from Hoover, Ala., averaged 19.0 points and 13.0 rebounds in a pair of Panhandle Conference games for the top-ranked Lady Pirates. Garrett posted double-doubles in both games, beginning with a 17-point, 14-rebound outing at No. 2 Northwest Florida State on February 9. Three days later, she tallied 21 points and 12 rebounds against then-No. 8 Tallahassee. For the week, Garrett shot 51.9 percent (14-of-27) from the floor.
